August 2005

8th: We went to Columbus  yesterday, to have dinner at Rabia’s new house, with her in-laws. Rabia said Aden loves the house, and runs around so much that he now eats more and sleeps better! My baby, he’s such an angel ladla. We took him his favorite Mama Fu’s noodles, and took Zyka for the adults. We also bought him a Dancing Elmo that sings hokey pokey.

18th: Aden went out on their balcony today barefoot and yelped when he got to the hot tiles. Rabia picked him up, felt that his feet were hot, so took him to the sink. She filled it with ice water and put his feet in – he was so excited that she understood his problem that he kept touching her head and kissing her hair. A couple of weeks ago, Rabia had been watching a DVD I had made of Aden and Shoaib, and the poor baby thought mamu was coming. He started screaming and laughing, and kept trying to get her to open the garage

20th: Rabia said she woke up late last night, and Aden was sitting on her stomach! Cute!! He sleeps in his car bed, next to their bed, but woke up and crawled on up. I had a dream last night that he started talking, and we were in our Stillwater Drive house in Columbus. He went into the den, and Shoaib and dad were sitting there. He pointed to his nana and said “daddy here!”

27th: Went to Columbus to visit my munchkin – SO SWEET. Shoaib went too, and Aden giggled and shrieked for a good 20 minutes. While we were there, he put in the DVD I made and kept pointing out his Atlanta toys, then got his shoes, got our help putting them on, then kept trying to get each of us to go out to Rabia’s car and put him in the car seat. Poor angel wants to visit us here! Insha’Allah they’ll be here in 2 weeks.

We took daddy’s old computer – the purple Sony VAIO – for Aden, since his old one broke during the move. He was so excited, the giggling and shrieking began, and he started lovingly running his hand along it. The background is the same one daddy put on – a very realistic, virtual den. Aden LOVED IT, and kept pointing the fireplace. We all thought how much daddy would love his grandson’s enjoyment of his computer. 💗

I took Aden for a walk, and he went straight to the playground being built at the end of their street, which is right now just a gravel path with a tractor clearing the land at the end. Rabia’s neighbor Tracy came to talk, and Aden so patiently stood there holding my hand while I talked to her, for 15 minutes. He kept staring down, and would every once in a while give her a smile. When I looked at him, he gave me the sweetest, most polite smiles. ANGEL. Also, Rabia changed him into his Halloween costume for us – Yoda. Too, too adorable for words. He glided in smiling because he knew we were going to lose it. Can’t. Stand. All. The. Cuteness.
