2006

February 15th: My baby is still an angel. So sweet, so cute, so smart. They were here Friday-Sunday. He loves feeding us pills, but won’t open the bottle or touch the pills – he knows to let us do that. He loved my Cape Cod white cheddar cheese popcorn, so I fed him a lot of those! He can also recognize his name, and spell it out with letters. Aden’s obsessed with opening and closing my makeup, and if he’s with Shoaib he also seems to want to destroy the contents!

February 26th: Aden’s was here for the day, keeping us occupied in every adorable way imaginable. Aden kisses mama and daddy’s photos that Humera keeps in her room – he really puckers up, which he never does! For his last visit, we took him to the aquarium, where he didn’t seem particularly interested in the fish. He was such a well-behaved angel in the food court – I’m always amazed by his perfect manners! He looooved the gift shop, and became particularly enamored of a blue rubber mug. He clutched the bag with the mug in it the whole way home, and would pull it away from us if we reached for it! But he seems to have forgotten it since then.

He was always whispering to himself – I think he secretly does talk, but has no intention of letting us know. His new chocolate love is kit-kats, and at one point he was making another trip towards the stairs, and Shoaib said for him to come back and have chocolate. Rabia was not happy, because she only offers that for big things, but Aden came strolling over, took her hand, and saying “maaaamaaaaa” took her over to the pantry to get the goods πŸ˜‚

Aden also now wants complete privacy when doing his long-term bathroom business. He leads us all out of the changing room off our foyer, then closes the door. Once he was in there for about 45 minutes, and a smell starting creeping out of the room through the whole house πŸ˜‚ I take him outside and he just looks up at me and smiles while we walk, giving me the most beautiful smiles

March: We went to celebrate our sweet boy's 3rd birthday!! Both sides of the family went to celebrate at Rabia's house - mama, Humera, and I drove down and stayed the night. Rabia had gotten an adorable Prince Aden cake, and he seemed like a little nonchalant prince, sitting around on his mini sofa/throne for us all to go and adore him. His major gift was a kid-sized motorized corvette, which he was very hesitant about. I was apparently the only one who weighed little enough to be in it, so I had to drive it around a bit for him to see! He was so happy to have everyone around!
