April 7th: We did a belated surprise birthday
party for Ilana, and then the next day had Aden's very elaborate Harry Potter
Birthday Party! I tried to make Golden Snitch cake pops at Rabia's request, but
they were a complete fail. Aden loved his party, though. On Sunday morning we
did an Easter Egg hunt - we did it indoors because of Aden's allergies, and we
planted them throughout the basement. Kids loved it :)

August: We're back in Atlanta, and the family had a surprise birthday party for Inaya followed by an almost play from the kids 😂 It was a superhero theme, but never quite made it to production in front of a live audience!

November 30th: On Tuesday the 24th, mama, Rabia,
and Aden came to visit us for Thanksgiving. Ilana was originally insisting that
she wanted to go to soccer (it would have been her last day), and wanted Nano
to come pick her up afterwards (they were flying in at 3ish, and Ilana's soccer
ends near 5), but the morning of, Ilana insisted she just wanted to come home and
then go to the airport. She was so excited about surprising them there :)

On the 25th, we got some Metro
Halal Food Cart for lunch then headed over to Tysons Corner. The kids hadn't
eaten, so I took the three of them to California Pizza Kitchen, while Rabia and mom got a chance to
shop. The next day was Thanksgiving, and we hit up the Zaika lunch buffet. For
the most part, when they visit they just want down time to play with and be
around Ilana and Inaya, so we kept our activities sparse. Aden did really want
to see the Jefferson Memorial and the Washington Monument, so Ilana and I went
with the two of them into DC on Friday morning. We parked near the Washington
Monument, then Ilana really wanted to go to the Lincoln Memorial while Aden
wanted to go directly to the Jefferson Memorial, so we parted ways. It was such
a beautiful day to be strolling through DC! We went through
the WWII Memorial, past the reflecting pool to the Lincoln Memorial, and then
on the way back went through Constitution Gardens. That afternoon, we went back
into DC, with mama this time, to go to the DC Holiday Market. Afterwards we went across the street to the gift shop of the International Spy
Museum, since Aden loves him some gift shops!
